The science
What is LaserWhite™?
LaserWhite™ is a two-step oral care system for men. The Mouthguard 2.0 (hydrogen peroxide strips and a dual-light LED device) lifts stains, and a fluoride-free nano-hydroxyapatite (nHA) toothpaste helps support the enamel surface every time you brush.
Why use hydrogen peroxide and nano-hydroxyapatite together?
They do two halves of the same job. Hydrogen peroxide lifts stains. Nano-hydroxyapatite is the same mineral enamel is made of, so brushing with it helps support the enamel surface. Peroxide whitens your teeth; nHA supports your enamel.
Is hydrogen peroxide whitening safe?
Used as directed, hydrogen peroxide is the most studied at-home whitening ingredient there is. Some people feel temporary sensitivity during any whitening routine. If you do, space out your sessions. If you have crowns, veneers or ongoing dental treatment, check with your dentist before whitening.
What is nano-hydroxyapatite toothpaste?
Hydroxyapatite is the mineral tooth enamel is made of. In nano form it settles onto the enamel surface, which is why nHA toothpastes are popular for everyday enamel care. LaserWhite™ toothpaste is fluoride-free. If your dentist has you on a specific toothpaste, follow your dentist.
Do purple toothpastes and serums whiten teeth?
No. Purple color correctors tint teeth violet so yellow looks more neutral. The effect is optical and temporary. They contain no peroxide and don't lift stains.
What's the difference between hydrogen peroxide and PAP whitening?
PAP (phthalimidoperoxycaproic acid) is an alternative ingredient used in some whitening strips. Hydrogen peroxide is the most widely studied whitening agent, and it's what LaserWhite™ strips use.
Using it
How long does LaserWhite™ take to work?
Most people see a brighter smile after the 14-treatment course, about two weeks. Keep brushing with the nHA toothpaste twice a day to keep it that way.
What do the blue and red lights do?
Blue light activates the peroxide gel during the 15-minute whitening step. Red light runs for 10 minutes afterward as a gentle finishing step, designed for comfort. The full session takes 25 minutes, hands-free.
Is LaserWhite™ okay for sensitive teeth?
The system is designed for comfort, with a gentle red-light finish and a daily nHA toothpaste. If your teeth are very sensitive, or you have crowns, veneers or ongoing dental treatment, check with your dentist before whitening.
How often should I whiten?
Run the 14-treatment course, then do a refill round a few times a year as coffee and other habits bring stains back. The Refill Pack ($39, reg. $54) has 14 more treatments plus a tube of toothpaste. Use the nHA toothpaste twice a day, every day.
Can women use it?
Obviously. We built it for guys because nobody else was, not because there's a gender lock on enamel.
